TwentyFourSeven(1997)-8/10->TwentyFourSeven is a promising debut for Shane Meadows for it is emotional,yet it shows a harsh and violent side of the black and white features.

Who Saw Her Die(1972)-4/10->WSHD has ok cinematography and the music helps to set the right mood,but other than those two things,it has a farfetched script and chaotic editing.

A Room For Romeo Brass(1999)-9/10->ARFRB is quite compelling for starters,but yet again we see the dark side of friendship and it benefits from a bravura(debut) performance from Paddy Considine.Terrific ending.

Once Upon A Time In The Midlands(2002)-5/10->This story has been told one too many times.The only good things in this movie are Ifans's and Carlyle's performances and also the cinematography.

Dead Man's Shoes(2004)-8.5/10->Meadows crafts an unsettling atmosphere with the black and white scenes and an even darker one with the music,the violence and Considine's performance.It is a brilliant slasher with fantastic cinematography and a great final twist.

This Is England(2007)-10/10->This Is England is entertaining,smartly edited,Graham's performance is amazing and the soundtrack is awesome.A great achievement for European cinema.

Somers Town(2009)-8.5/10->Somers Town is a story about unusual friendships that bases itself only on its cinematography,humour,music and dialogue.Short,but effective.

Le-Donk And Scor-Zay-Zee(2009)-7/10->Meadows's entry in the comedic mockumentary genre is mostly inspired by its music and humor,but also the realistic performances.

In The Mood For Love(2000)-9.5/10->With electric editing,fantastic cinematography and music,Wong Kar-Wai creates an impressive atmosphere in which the chemistry between the characters shines.Terrific acting.

Too Big To Fail(2011)-8/10->With a smart and tense dialogue,Too Big To Fail uses its solid cast to make the most of the dialogue.Suspenseful from the beginning till the end.

Collateral(2004)-9/10->With stylish cinematography,kinetic editing,a cool soundtrack and Cruise's slick performance,Collateral turns into an extremely thrilling and intriguing crime-thriller.

Welcome To The Dollhouse(1995)-8.5/10->Even though it has a dark tone,WTTD is a witty and intelligent piece of art.A collection of bizarre characters.

Storytelling(2001)-8/10->Storytelling's first segment is a bit too dark,unjustified and harsh,but the second one's wit,its acting and its story make up for the first one.And also,Solondz is capable to find new bizarre characters.

Palindromes(2004)-9/10->Solondz turns this extremely freakish story into a witty and unique film.Very well acted.

Life During Wartime(2009)-9/10->This uncalled for sequel for Happiness,is better in some aspects,but it fails to shock as much as Happiness did.

Der Siebente Kontinent(1989)-10/10->Haneke's debut fiercely discusses moral issues,its disturbing,it features one of the best scenes i have ever seen in films and its narrative part is taken very seriously.A hidden gem,indeed.

Benny's Video(1992)-9.5/10->This is an insightful and unsettling look at the line between fantasy and reality and the consequences of violent films.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows:Part II(2011)-10/10->This last part shows extreme faithfullness to its predecessors,the 3D is amazing and it answers a lot of questions.Fantastic.

Dead Snow(2009)-5/10->Dead Snow is a lot of fun and it's really bloody,but its just mindless.The acting helps a bit.

Cinema Komunisto(2010)-8/10->Cinema Komunisto builds up nicely,using archive images as its basic storytelling technique and the music is pretty good.

Night Of The Living Dead(1968)-9.5/10->NOFTD uses realistic elements,terrific music and thrilling dialogue to create a compelling story of survival and it might feature two of the best character studies about zombies and humans in movies.Not as scary as it should be.

Dawn Of The Dead(1978)-10/10->More entertaining(and scarier) than its predecessor,Dawn Of The Dead is everything the precedent was and more.

Day Of The Dead(1985)-8/10->Day Of The Dead isn't as good as the first two,but it works both as a horror and a drama.

Land Of The Dead(2005)-9/10->Introducing us to a new breed of zombies and a new world,Land Of The Dead is smarter than Day Of The Dead and even better in camerawork and acting.

1408(2007)-8/10->Cusack's performance really stands out throughout this frightening,well-made adaptation of Stephen King's story.

Ashes Of Time(1994)-3/10->Amazing camerawork can't make up for a boring,pointless and so-called poetic storyline.

Diary Of The Dead(2007)-6/10->With Diary Of The Dead,Romero brings us a combination between mockumentaries and FPS videogames.There is some bad acting and it isn't scary enough,but Romero also smartly combines political issues with gore.

Survival Of The Dead(2009)-4/10->It is often funny and the camerawork is pretty good,but we've seen everything in here before.

Dawn Of The Dead(2004)-9.5/10->Dawn Of The Dead is electric because of its visual part and acting and also its ability to respect the original and also go out on a limb on its own.Zack Snyder's best film so far.

Shaun Of The Dead(2004)-9/10->It's original,inventive,surprisingly scary and extremely funny.Terrific acting.

The Crazies(1973)-7/10->The Crazies is original and scary,but its acting lets it down and also its sudden plot twists.

The Crazies(2010)-8.5/10->The remake is much more scarier than the original,more unsettling,darker and well acted.Its final plot twist is too unbelievable.

Martin(1977)-8.5/10->Romero's entry in the vampire horror genre is not strictly about blood sucking fiends it's actually desecrates the rules of vampires,by developing an intriguing premise into a compelling story that mixes moral values with scares.Good ending.

Creepshow(1982)-10/10->Creepshow is a mix of hilarious dark humor and effective scares,that features a great script from Stephen King and psychedelic editing.One of the best anthologies yet to come and Romero's second best work after Dawn Of The Dead.

Monkey Shines(1988)-8/10->This might not seem like a Romero film in the first 40 minutes,but it slowly develops into a startling study on humanity and fear.

Bruiser(2000)-6/10->Its editing is impressive and Stormare gives it all in his secondary role,but it lacks scares and its plot is tangled up.

Cannibal Holocaust(1980)-6/10->Cannibal Holocaust is extremely disturbing,but it could also considered as a cult movie and as a source of inspiration for The Blair Witch Project and other realistic horror/thriller movies.

Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle(2004)-8/10->Harold And Kumar is funny from the beginning till the end and it features great cameos(especially Neil Patrick Harris) and it actually centers on only one of it's characters journey,Harold's,which is pretty surprising for a stoner comedy.

Harold And Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay(2008)-3/10->Sure it has 2 or 3 funny moments,but it's formulaic,unfunny and boring.A shame to its predecessor.

Duo For Paolocello And Petronome(1994)-9/10->With great editing and camerawork,smartly tells a story about friendship during the communist era,through poetry,games and books.

Incendies(2010)-8/10->Despite it's length,Incendies keeps you in your seat because of it's suspense and fantastic acting.

[Rec](2007)-9/10->[Rec] is suspenseful and it will scare you properly.Also its final plot twist is pretty smart and shocking.

Thank You From Smoking(2005)-9/10->TYFS is inappropriately hilarious and it has Aaron Eckhart in his best,cynical form.

Kaboom(2010)-4/10->If it weren't for all the sci-fi crap,Kaboom would have been a well-acted,somewhat funny teen comedy.

[Rec] 2(2010)-9/10->[Rec] 2 is much more smarter than its predecessor,but not as scary because it tries to explain more.

Quarantine(2008)-2/10->Quarantine is a mot-a-mot remake of a fantastic film.Even if it is mot-a-mot,it has lousy acting and it isn't half as scary as the original.

Drive Angry(2011)-5/10->Drive Angry is fun and it does tell an interesting story but its acting is poor and the dialogue is crappy.

Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss's Song(1971)-8/10->Unique camerawork,the script and Peebles's direction and acting make this worth your while.Also,it has an amazing soundtrack.

Hobo With A Shotgun(2011)-7/10->Hobo With A Shotgun is a ton of fun and Hauer is amazing,but its plot is kind of bonkers.

Into The Wild(2007)-9.5/10->Deep and emotional,Into The Wild features wonderful camerawork,amazing dialogue and a gut-wrenching performance by Emile Hirsch,which might be considered his breakout performance.Also,it studies its main character very slowly and thoroughly.

Black Sheep(2006)-7/10->With its humor and unexpected grotesque violence,Black Sheep,turns out to be quite an enjoyable film.Also,it's completely lunatic,because it takes itself extremely seriously.

Pusher(1996)-8/10->Pusher builds up its pace slowly,but its acting and script make it worth while.And it does really stand out through its brutal storytelling.

Pusher II:With Blood On My Hands(2004)-9/10->More powerful than its predecessor,Pusher II is amazing because of its editing and Mads Mikkelsen's performance.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(1974)-9/10->TTCM is pretty well acted and played through.Even if the first 30-40 minutes won't impress you,the last 20-30 will,because of their grotesque reality.

You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger(2010)-8/10->YWMATDS is extremely funny and it features Anthony Hopkins's best performance in a long time.

Felidae(1994)-9/10->Felidae is bold,slick and thrilling,because if its constant suspense and talented voice cast.It may be considered to be animation's response to the noir genre.

Pusher III:I'm The Angel Of Death(2005)-8/10-Pusher III is darker than all of the other in the trilogy and it benefits from Zlatko Buric's best performance in all three of them.

Rubber(2010)-7/10->Amusing and it does feature a really smart premise,but if it weren't for the so-called "audience" sub-plot,Rubber would have been better.

Ray(2004)-9.5/10->Ray is beautiful,ecstatic due to its musical numbers and still,it is a haunting piece on redemption and addiction.Also,Jamie Foxx's performance is amazing.I think it's one of the best performances we've seen by now in biopics.

The Limey(1999)-8/10->Mysterious,subtle and smart,The Limey creates a thrilling atmosfere based only on the dialogue and acting.

Entre Les Murs(2008)-10/10->An incredible depiction of quite simple events,Entre Les Murs is energetic and it brings up moral matters that aren't usually discussed in class.Fantastic acting all around.

Transformers 3D:Dark Of The Moon(2011)-5/10->Except some funny moments involving Ken Jeong and Alan Tudyk and some of it's special effects,Transformers 3 doesn't bring anything new to the table.

Hanna(2011)-7/10->Despite an amazing soundtrack(which is actually better than Daft Punk's soundtrack for Tron:Legacy),Saorise Ronan finally maneuvering a kick-ass part and some thrilling action sequences,Hanna kind of lets us down.

Chungking Express(1994)-5/10->Chungking's first 40 minutes are interesting and it's camerawork is fantastic,but Chungking is really slow-paced and it loses sub-plots towards the end.And characters.

Glengarry Glen Ross(1992)-10/10->Mamet's script and the whole cast make this a great suspenseful office drama.

Narc(2002)-8/10->Narc's plot twists are really unexpected and it's editing and camerawork are really impressive.It also features Ray Liotta in his best role since Goodfellas.

Valhalla Rising(2009)-7/10 ->Valhalla Rising is smart,spectacular in scenery and Mads Mikkelsen is amazing(as always) in his role as the mute warrior,but even if the premise is intriguing,it doesn't live up to it.Also it might be easier to understand for nordic mythology fans.

It's Kind Of A Funny Story(2010)-8/10->IKOAFS can't really set it's tone,amusing or depressing,but it still provides some food for thought and it also features a better than ever Zach Galifianakis.Also,it's very different from Fleck and Boden's previous work.

The Arbor(2010)-8/10->The Arbor is a well-thought documentary with unexpectedly good lipsyncing from the actors.

Morgen(2010)-8/10->Morgen tells a heartfelt story with a great performance from Andras Hathazi and an unexpected ending.

A Letter To Elia(2010)-8/10->A Letter To Elia is a bit too short to express those feelings thoroughly,but it succeeds to capture you.

Outbound/Periferic(2011)-8.5/10->Outbound doesn't quite dissect it's subject too much,but you get a clear picture of the situation and good performances all around.

Certified Copy/Copie Conforme(2010)-9/10->Certified Copy has great performances from the leads(especially Binoche),wonderful scenery from Italy,humor and great dialogues.

Rabbit Hole(2010)-8.5/10->Rabbit Hole is funny sometimes(inappropriately most of the times), but Nicole Kidman,Aaron Eckhart,Dianne Wiest make this a great drama.

Post Mortem(2010)-8/10->Post Mortem's really unusual satire and Alfredo Castro's performance make this a fun film.

Abel(2010)-7/10->Abel is smartly shot and has some good performances,but it's very predictable and way too slow.

The Mill And The Cross(2011)-8/10->The scenery,the way in which it chooses to tell it's story and the performances make this a great film.

William S. Burroughs:A Man Within(2010)-9/10->The way it's structured and the capability to tell this huge story in 83 minutes make this a great documentary from 2010.

Blue Valentine(2010)-9/10->Blue Valentine's harsh realism and the performances turn this into a fantastic film.

King Of Devil's Island(2011)-8/10->KODI has good performances and it's scenery is righteously dark,but it's script problems are a bit serious.

Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives(2010)-6/10->This movie is a huge disappoinment.The performances and the cinematography are the only things good in this movie.

Katka(2010)-8/10->Katka goes deeper into someone's life than any other documentary i have ever seen.And it does it with a lot of brains.

Youth In Revolt(2009)-8/10->Youth In Revolt is funny and it has one of Michael Cera's best performances as a geek.

Half Nelson(2006)-9/10->Half Nelson has an interesting story,a great script and Ryan Gosling and Shareeka Epps doing a great job.

Notorious(2009)-7/10->Though it doesn't have much insight,Notorious has great visuals,some ok performances,but after all it's Biggie's music that rules the stage.

Everything Is Illuminated(2005)-9/10->Yes,it does get out major parts from the book,but it's great performances all around,it's dark humor,the imagery and the soundtrack make this a genuine heartfelt story.

Office Space(1999)-8/10->Office Space is hilarious and it's really original and inventive.

Amores Perros(2000)-8/10->Amores Perros is painful,but it tells it's story straight(with the help of some great acting) even if some moments are absurd.

Julie And Julia(2009)-7/10->Julie and Julia is much better than the other rom-coms these days thanks to Meryl Streep and Amy Adams,but also a interesting story.

Summer Of Sam(1999)-8/10->Summer Of Sam has great performances,especially from John Leguizamo and Adrien Brody,some mind-blowing visuals and a killer soundtrack.Not so much script in there,though.

9(2009)-8/10->9 has an original idea,great character development and the animation is absolutely fantastic.

Gulliver's Travels(2010)-3/10->Jack Black makes quite a few laughs,but this adaptation is a dirty shame.

Little Fockers(2010)-5/10->Even if it's a bit funnier than the second one,it's cliched script and it's gross jokes ruin it.

Idiocracy(2006)-7/10->Idiocracy is interesting and quite funny,but it's script is a bit too absurd to be believable.

Extract(2009)-7/10->It's premise promises us more than this.Still,it's funny and original.And there's some dark humor in there,too.

Black Swan(2010)-8.5->Black Swan is great.The music,the visuals,Natalie Portman,Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel.Even if it gets a bit too dramatic at a point.

Meet The Parents(2000)-8/10->Meet The Parents is funny,original and it's one of Robert DeNiro's best performances between 2000 and 2010.

Buried(2010)-9/10->Buried is tense and Ryan Reynolds actually pulls it off.*Probably SPOILER*The end is not what you expect.It's excruciating.It will have up in your tears.*SPOILER Finish*

Rashomon(1950)-10/10->Rashomon has great performances all around and the surroundings are majestic.Also the story is interesting and a bit philosophical.

Taxi Driver(1976)-9.5/10->Taxi Driver is quite slow for a Scorsese movie,but it's not boring at all.And DeNiro is fantastic.

I Love You Phillip Morris(2010)-8/10->I Love You Phillip Morris is funny and it has one of Jim Carrey's best performances.Ever.

The Virginity Hit(2010)-7/10->The Virginity Hit is funnier than the other "Lose Your Virginity" movies,but it's too clicheic to work.

The Girlfriend Experience(2009)-6.5/10->The Girlfriend Experience has an interesting premise and Steven Soderbergh's style is as good as it'll ever get,but it's a bit too dull.

Boardwalk Empire(2010)-10/10->Boardwalk Empire has great performances,unexpectedly good humor,the sets are stunning and this portrayal of the times of the prohibition is wonderful.Go on.Make the second season faster.

Crazy Heart(2009)-8/10->Crazy Heart has a mindblowing soundtrack and a good script,but this isn't Jeff Bridges's role of a lifetime.Nor it is Oscar worthy.

The Kids Are All Right(2010)-9/10->TKAAR is funny,unpredictable and Annette Bening deserves an Oscar for this.One of the best movies 2010 brought us.

School Of Rock(2003)-8/10->Jack Black,the humor and the music make this a great comedy.

Donnie Darko(2001)-8.5/10->Donnie Darko is puzzling and it's a great debut for both Gyllenhaal and Kelly.See it with your mind clear.

The Box(2009)-7/10->The Box has an interesting premise and great visuals but some moments are just too fake to be believable.

The Dilemma(2011)-5/10->The Dilemma is quite funny,but it doesn't decide even if it's a drama or a comedy.Also it's really formulaic.

Eraserhead(1977)-9/10->Though it's really weird,it has fine performances and a great script for a paranoic vision.

Boogie Nights(1997)-10/10->Boogie Nights is a great portrayal of the pornography film business with an outstanding cast,an ecstatic 2 hours and a half and a great script.

Mr Woodcock(2008)-5/10->Mr Woodcock is unfunny and though Billy Bob Thornton is trying to make it work,it doesn't.

Poltergeist(1982)-7/10->Poltergeist is fun and unexpected,but it's way too absurd to be taken seriously.

Pet Sematary(1989)-3/10->This is one of the worst adaptations of a book by Stephen King(though the screenplay is written by him)and it has one of the worst casts ever.

Mulholland Drive(2001)-7/10->Mulholland Drive doesn't make too much sense but it's uplifted by some fine performances by Naomi Watts and Justin Theroux and some OK visuals.Lynch fans will enjoy it.

Lighting Over Water/Nick's Movie(1981)-9/10->Lighting Over Water is emotional and it's a wonderful homage to one of cinematography's directors who set landmarks in the past.

The Town(2010)-9/10->The Town is smart,fun,with some of the best performances of 2010 and a great score.

Tristram Shandy:A Cock And Bull Story(2005)-8/10->Tristram Shandy is funny with some fine performances from Steve Coogan and Rob Bryden.

Cherrybomb(2009)-5/10->Cherrybomb has a dull script and one of the most un-craziest stories of teenagers.

Exit Through The Gift Shop(2010)-9.5/10->With an interesting subject and great direction from newcomer director Banksy,ETTGS boasts.

The Runaways(2010)-8/10->The Runaways doesn't give too much insight of the band but it has great performances from Kristen Stewart,Dakota Fanning and Michael Shannon,outstanding art scenes and one of the best soundtracks ever.

The Chumscrubber(2005)-7/10->The Chumscrubber is quite quirky and it has some rising stars in it,but that doesn't save it from it's flawed script.

Thumbsucker(2005)-7/10->Thumbsucker has a good cast and it's one of the brighter indie comedies but it's really predictable and it gets boring towards the end.

The Seven Samurai(1954)-10/10->The Seven Samurai tells a story of friendship,but also unity and war through wonderful scenery,great war scenes(even though it has 3 hours and 20 minutes it never gets boring) and a great cast.These make it one of the best movies ever made.
